The balloon festival has become a focal point during January in Lake Havasu. The draw for tourists isn’t just for the beautiful view of the balloons over the lake but the annual event in general which features a meet and greet of the pilots, art and food vendors, a carnival, live entertainment, balloon rides and so much more as this event stretches over four days. For us who live here at the lake the balloons create a picturesque scene as the sun sets.
As the summer season approaches, events like this are a great way for more people to become acquainted with our great town. Lake Havasu as a tourist attraction has increased in popularity over the years which is great for local businesses. Having been voted top 3 in America’s “Best Communities” in 2017 and most recently listed in the “top 15 waterfront town you absolutely must visit”, Lake Havasu should be considered small but mighty in terms of its growing popularity among all ages, not just the spring breakers.
Lake Havasu boasts a population of 52,000 with an annual visitor count of three-quarters of a million people and we can likely equate our increase in popularity on 300 plus days of sunshine each year. Our weather is unmatched and the pass of our little town is serene and “vacation” like all year round. As a business owner in this robust little town, I welcome the annual events such as the balloon festival as it gets the word out to the world about our awesome little vacation town.
