As the season approaches, our little town wakes up to the feel of the temperature rising again and as a business owner, I love it. Snowbirds begin to wind down their stay to return to the part of the world they spend their summer months. Business owners ramp up with anticipation of another great season and tourism is on the rise year over year. We are a small but mighty town having grown exponentially over the years and the boating industry has certainly aided in the expansion. In 2016, a few of our local establishments (Lake Havasu Marine Association, The Lake Havasu Chamber, Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Lake Havasu Department of Economic Development and the Lake Havasu Hospitality Association) put together a report that outlines the economic impact of the boating industry in our town. This industry accounts for more than 2,000 jobs, $63 million in income and $14 million in state tax revenue each year. Our tourists spend a whopping $154 million dollars on boating activities every year which is not too bad for a town that boasts a population of 54,000 people. We have a thriving economy here in Lake Havasu and I love that my business is a contributing factor.
On a more micro level, I'm particularly excited about this season as we have worked tirelessly to expand our offering for our customers and today I wanted to announce the newest addition to our beach. I love our location for so many reasons and this latest addition can only enhance the awesome and fun family experience on the lake. We have decided to add Frenchy’s Snack Shack to our beach which will offer frozen yogurt, smoothies, hot-dogs, drinks and some other awesome accoutrement’s. Our beach is totally geared toward the family and group experience as we are practically a one stop shop for whatever you are looking for for a day on the lake or on our beach. Not only that, this addition is for my local customers just as much as it is for the visitors. I have a very loyal client base in Havasu and I see many of you guys around town and down on the Beach Shack Island when we are open. I’m looking forward to much more of that again this year. Stay tuned as we make more announcements during the season about some really cools stuff we have going on.
